Lovegrove and Cotton, Second Generation Tsigereda Lovegrove Construction Lawyer

6 Nov 2022

Tsigereda was admitted to the Victorian Supreme Court on 25 October 2022. Adjunct Professor Kim Lovegrove MSE RML was thrilled to move her admission. Tsigereda is now one of three generations of Lovegroves` in the Law and is currently practicing as a construction lawyer in Australia.

Kim founded Lovegrove and Cotton`s previous incarnation in 1993. Next year will be the firm`s 30th anniversary.

Tsigereda`s journey

Tsigereda came from Ethiopia to Australia in 2009 having met and married Lovegrove and Cotton`s founder Kim in Addis Ababa. She met when Kim was visiting an Ethiopian HIV NGO as Lovegrove and Cotton have for the last 12 year sponsored the legal position in that NGO.

Tsigereda commenced work with the firm in 2010 as a receptionist and as she gained confidence and improved her English proficiency assumed the role of HR and Office Management; she has been the office manager for nearly 10 years.

Lovegrove and Cotton sponsored the activities of the Ethiopian Consulate to Victoria in the year 2019 to 2020 when Kim was the Ethiopian Honorary Consul to Victoria. Tsigereda was a Consular Attache and she had a pretty full plate what with juggling studies with office management, and the no small matter of mothering. As Consular Attache she was a key liaison operative with the Ethiopian community and the Australian Embassy. Her bi-lingual dexterity was a great asset to the Consulate and made Kim`s work much easier.  Tsigereda  organised events with VIPS and key Ethiopian community representative.

Tsigereda has also been the Secretary to the Dispute Resolution Committee of the International Building Quality Centre (IBQC), since 2021, in which capacity she organises meetings for the international members of said committee and coordinates logistics.

Going forward in association with Justin Cotton and the firms` founder, Tsigereda Lovegrove will grow the firm and expand its footprint in the construction and planning legal sector.  The firm is in very safe hands.
