All of the photos were taken at an event hosted by the Australian Embassy in Washington DC on Monday evening (12/12/2022). The below passage is taken from Kim’s Linkedin post on the event.

“Thank you to Royal Australian Navy Captain David Turner, for presiding over a delightful and significant occasion. I attended in my capacity as chair of the I B Q C & on behalf of the University of Canberra. A highlight was when Captain Turner & I were able to give fellowship certificates of appreciation to a small gathering of American & Australian luminaries. Two of the recipients are featured below, Judy Zakreski 赵笛 Executive Director of the I B Q C & Dominic Sims Chief Executive Officer of the International Codes Council. Dominic is an inaugural Board member of the IBQC & recently facilitated the legal incorporation of the IBQC in the United States. A critically important milestone in the IBQC journey as it shores up the legal perpetuity of the international thought leadership hub in the development of global best practice & sustainable building control guidelines. Judy too has, with the backing of Dominic & the ICC been a tireless contributor to the IBQC & is the inaugural Executive Director. So thank you Dominic, ICC & Judy.

Captain Turner & myself also handed out Royal Society of NSW certificates of appreciation to John D. Butler Rear Admiral US Navy (Retired) CBE, Dr Alan Jeary AO, Greg Copley AM. It was a privilege to meet & engage with Rear Admiral John Butler, a remarkably accomplished & most convivial gentleman. It was a pleasant surprise to see old friend Gregory Copley AM & his wife Pamela. It is a small world. Greg, two years back bestowed upon me the MSE honorarium (Order of the Star of Ethiopia) on behalf of the Ethiopian Crown Council in Lovegrove Cotton`s offices in Melbourne. It was also the first time, in a long time, that Alan & I were able to exchange pleasantries. Alan like Greg is an Australian that has carved out a tremendous international reputation.

And thank you too I B Q C deputy chair Prof Robert Whittaker AM FRSN Hon D Const M (CQUniversity) & The Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO for your collaboration in getting this important event off the ground. But for the Ambassadors` support and Bob`s tireless energies in the background, this significant occasion would not have taken place.”
